Five Simple Steps to a Life-Changing Daily Spiritual Practice

To live life to the fullest and reach your potential, you need a consistent spiritual practice. Without this, you may just be wasting your life. At a minimum, you're wasting the opportunity for the deepest happiness and fulfillment possible (and pretty much everything else you desire).

I realize this may sound extreme, but I can explain.

Below you’ll find five simple ways to develop a consistent spiritual practice that can change your life. And why it matters. But first, you probably want a little background….

For more than 20 years, I’ve been fully committed to my spiritual path. I’ve been blessed to learn from many teachers and have the most incredible range of experiences. From full liberation to total annihilation and rebirth (so many rebirths!). It's my spiritual practice that's made almost everything I've desired possible (and so much more I could not have dreamed up).

I’ve dedicated my life to these practices. They form the foundation of all that I teach, and the coaching and consulting that I do.

Why? Because they make it possible to maintain a deeply embodied inner peace, no matter what’s happening in the world.

No matter what's happening in our lives, they help us overcome our biggest fears and doubts. To develop resilience. And connect straight to our higher self or Source.

But there’s a reason why a consistent, deliberate practice is so important….

Almost anything can be a spiritual practice if done with the intention of cultivating awareness of your true self. Surrendering into the flow of grace of who you are, at your Source.

But to make real progress, you need to find a set of spiritual practices that work for you and do them consistently. Then you will start to see the real gains from digging one deep well: it becomes a fountain of vital life force for you and your work.

Otherwise, you’re basically dabbling. And that's fine, but it's not likely to give you the kind of results that a consistent practice can.

Now, finding a practice and routine to stick to requires some testing and adjusting. But once you find a set of regular practices and make it into a routine, it can vastly improve your quality of life. That’s where the five steps below come in….

Five simple steps to develop a consistent life-changing spiritual practice

1. Develop a morning routine, and make your spiritual practice part of that.

A morning routine is so key because it starts you off right for the day, and it adds some stability to your life. This is soothing to the nervous system.

My personal routine is: wake up, get out of bed and drink a glass of water. Do my seated meditation practice. Then I make my bed. Those are the non-negotiables.

After that, I do some morning journaling, typically followed by tea and breakfast. Then I do a quick review and planning session for what to do for the day and go for a 20-25 minute walk.

On most days, my full morning routine takes about 90 minutes. Each step is intentional and adds value to my day:

  • The meditation practice clears and charges my energy, connecting me with myself, my higher self, and Source. It helps me receive the guidance I need for the day. I also set up my mindset and intentions for the day from here.

  • Making the bed puts me in a feeling of control—like I’m being intentional about my day. And it sets the space.

  • I plan my day using a simple and effective system. This is key because, without a system, it's almost guaranteed you won't reach your goals. I will teach this in our upcoming Sacred Practice healing group, because it's such an effective practice (especially for sensitive souls).

  • But the walking is the kicker: while I walk, I feel into my day and the big things I have to do. I get answers to questions I’m having around those, and I draw courage and momentum. So when I get back, I can jump right into work.

2. Find a guided meditation that works for you, or use a meditation timer

Here are some of the most popular and effective practices you can use.

  • Yoga Nidra (body scan)

  • Somatic or shamanic healing

  • Breathwork (or count the breath)

  • Intention-setting and prayer or invocations

  • Visioning your day

  • Silent immersion into oneness

My personal daily practice incorporates all of these in one short and powerful session. I teach this in the Fire of Love Activation: Spiritual Healing Masterclass. You’ll also receive my exclusive guided Clear-Charge-Seal meditation—it's more powerful and effective for sensitive souls than any other practice I know of (and I’ve used many over the years).

3. Stick with one practice

It may take time to find a practice that works for you. Once you do, stick with it. And do the same one every day until you can do it on your own.

As you get accustomed to the practice, you can modify or add to it as needed. Cycling through each stage becomes a nimble, intuitive process. The ultimate aim is to reach a state of pure oneness consciousness. From there, you can connect to the Source for guidance and support in your daily life.

4. Find a safe and loving community you resonate with, and a teacher you can trust

Trust your instincts and what you feel in your heart, seek a teacher who empowers their students and vet them. Be cautious of those with a cult-like following, as they may be fostering it.

It’s so important to work with teachers of high integrity. Unfortunately, teachers are known to abuse their power and exploit students. These same teachers often seek to create a dependency on themselves. Find teachers who give their students the skills and knowledge to be independent. Eventually, you won't need the teacher. They'll be there to remind you of infinite possibilities and offer support during challenging times.

5. Let all that you do be a sacred spiritual practice

Everything can be spiritual, everything can be sacred. What makes anything spiritual or sacred? It’s our intention and awareness. But a Practice is something that’s done consistently in that way.

Over time, it becomes a way of life, a habit, a part of who you are. Then it takes a lot less effort. You can drop right into the space of oneness that you are.

Those are the five steps! In summary:

  • Develop a morning routine.

  • Find a practice that resonates with you.

  • Stick to one practice and build on that.

  • Connect with a resonant community and trustworthy teacher.

  • Infuse sacred intention into your daily life, so that it becomes a spiritual practice in itself.

Through this approach, you can access a deep source of vital energy.

You'll boost your peace of mind, your emotional resilience, and your connection with your authentic self.

You'll develop the strength to tackle the greatest challenges of your life with ease.... Even when your heart is breaking, or it seems like everything is falling apart.

Hope this is helpful for you! May your spiritual journey be a source of boundless joy, beauty, and soul-driven purpose. So that you may be a source of light and strength in these troubling times.

With Love,

Satya
